| monoica Palmera, with single trunk, up to 7-8 m. high and 25 cm. thick, smooth and ringed. Pinnate leaves 2.5-3 m. long, with 120-140 pairs of leaflets which are inserted into the spine at various levels, giving the feathery leaf. They are bright green, about 15 cm. in length. Inflorescence born in the leaves, about 50 cm. long, highly branched. Fruit oblong-ovoid, 1.8 cm. in diameter, brown-black color. |
